Support our Nonprofit
The National Museum of American Illustration is operated and administered by the American Civilization Foundation, a 501(c)(3) IRS approved nonprofit organization. It is an independent, educational and aesthetic foundation, dedicated to bringing the greatest American illustration art to the public.
Since normal museum income does not cover annual operating needs, we must look to the benevolence of our visitors and supporters to assist the NMAI. We solicit donations once each year at our Annual Appeal, but gifts and donations are welcomed at all times to help the NMAI last in perpetuity.
Gifts to the Museum are made through our nonprofit, American Civilization Foundation, and may be made in cash, securities, artworks, real estate, and other forms of property. Naming and memorial-giving opportunities are available as well. Gifts may be made unrestrictedly or alternatively they may be directed to specific needs of the Museum or tailored to the goals of the donor(s). Additionally, deferred giving options are available which may provide significant income and tax benefits to the donor(s). Please help us by donating via the button below:
Naming Opportunities
Donors may underwrite and/or sponsor exhibitions and openings, name public spaces, gardens, and/or exhibition galleries, contribute to the Endowment Fund, endow certain staff positions, underwrite and support educational programming, and sponsor special events and traveling exhibitions. The National Museum of American Illustration continually hosts high-profile exhibitions such as those featuring artists/illustrators in our American Imagist Collection: Norman Rockwell's America...in England; A Star on our Flag; The Great American Imagists; Howard Pyle and his Students; Norman Rockwell and his Mentor, J.C. Leyendecker; Tom Wolfe's In Our Time; and Maxfield Parrish's Magnum Opus. All of these and 60 other exhibitions actively seek on-going support and funding.
